There seems to be some confusion about how these documents were created. They were NOT created by painstakingly (manually) placing the fonts together. We write the document in a particular format and run it through LaTeX. The resulting .dvi file is then converted to postscript and printed. In order to embed kannada documents in my home page, I had to take a slightly circuitous route of converting the PS file to a "gif" file, touching (the colors) it up using xv before putting them up. In order to better appreciate the effort (or lack of) creating a kannada document. Check out the original latex file which created the above image.
